This is what happens when you have a married couple who are both fellows….

From our blog

The end of 5773 did not fill our lives with happiness, nor health, so it is our great wish that these be abundant for us and all of our friends and family in the coming year.

Luckily, there is one big thing to keep us all happy, and hopefully keep me healthy at least too…. The anticipated arrival of Ploni/t Gutierrez in March 2014.

Ploni/t (pronounced ploe-knee or ploe-neat) is the name used in Jewish texts when the person’s name is left out or unknown. Since this child has been and will be spending its time in-utero and its first few months of life primarily in a Beit Midrash (place of Jewish learning), it made sense to us for that to be the nickname.

(Ploni/t is also ok with being called little one, the dude, the baby, and various fruits/vegetables which correspond to his/her growing size – based on what loved ones have come up with on their own at this point.)

Ploni/t has expressed his/her excitement at being a future Pardesnik (Pardes student) already, and is particularly excited to break the cardinal rules of the Beit Midrash by sleeping, eating, and not wearing shoes.

We truly do hope and pray that this year is filled with happiness and health, love and laughter, and making memories to last a lifetime.
