Musings from Students of the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem
Posted on September 19, 2011 by Derek Kwait
It occurred to me that as a new blogger and new face around Pardes, many of you may not know who I am. To bring a tikkun to this situation, I decided I should share the author’s bio from my thesis novella, Masters of Turning:
derek m. kwait is Scholastic’s hottest new author with the publication of his “acclaimed” first novella Masters of Turning. Hailing originally from the fabled Jewish community of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, he went on to graduate [University]… in 2011 with a BA in Jewish Women’s Studies. He is currently attending the Harold and Minnie Rosengold Cheshbon Gadol Yeshiva in Ramallah studying for Racist Old Guy Who Sits Next to You at Kiddush ordination. Following this, he plans on returning to the States to continue his career in loan repayment. He is not married and has no children; he does have a cat, but they are not on speaking terms.
[Note: I actually am from the fabled Jewish community of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania. It is “fabled” in the sense that there was a wild rumor that actual Jews lived there.]
