Introducing… Songs from the Darkness

From my blog:

It seems silly to me now, but I have resisted writing a blog because I couldn’t fathom writing prose with enough frequency to make it viable and I doubted I had anything of use to say.  And then…

In the past couple of weeks, I wrote some poems.  And posted them.  And remembered that I love writing poems and sharing them and they tend to help me process something happening in my life in the moment.  And that’s sort of what blogging is, right?

This winter, I am studying in Jerusalem with my husband of 4 and a half months.  I am finally ready to admit that this has been a really difficult time.  I hope this writing will help me through it and knowing someone out there might be reading along with me, might help me feel less lonely out here.

My Hebrew name is Tziporah Laila.  My Kohenet Hebrew Priestess name is Singer in the dark.  So let these poems be songs from the darkness.  My darkness and maybe yours, too.
