After a busy day with the students at Ulus, we all headed back to our billets to get ready for Shabbat. We welcomed in Shabbat with Rabbi Nafi at the Ortaköy synagogue. 5AM, coffee in hands and bags packed as we make our way out the door. On the bus to the airport, everyone is excited, sleepy, and maybe a little nervous. Watching the sun rise slowly over the judean hills as we wind our way down road 1 towards ben gurion airport, there is a sense Continue Reading »

Countdown to departure to Turkey: 15 hours. I am starting to complain about not really being ready or packed. And everyone is asking me the same questions: Are you packed? Are you excited? Are you ready? And I am giving the same answers: No. Yes. I don’t know. Countdown to departure: 12 hours: Still not Continue Reading »
